How to install child-time
It takes about 5 minutes. You'll need the child's Windows 10 or 11 computer and your phone or computer for the parent dashboard.
1. Create a parent account
Open the parent dashboard, sign up with email and password and add your child. The dashboard can be installed on your phone as an app.
2. Sign into Windows as the child
The program tracks time for the Windows account it runs under. If the child doesn't have their own account, create one: Settings → Accounts → Other users. A standard (non-admin) account is best.
3. Download and run the program
Download child-time-agent.exe and run it. Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen because the beta isn't code-signed yet. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
4. Sign in with your account and pick the child
Enter the parent email and password in the program window and choose which child uses this Windows account. Your password isn't stored on the computer.
5. Done
The program adds itself to startup and the child sees a timer. Within a minute the computer appears in the parent dashboard — set a limit under “Children & limits”.
